Social Dimensions of Watershed Planning Social Dimensions of Watershed Planning

A Step-by-Step Guide to Conducting a Social Profile for Watershed Planning

This web site and its associated workbook have been created to provide a general overview of the importance of social issues to the watershed planning process and also provide detailed guidance on how to assess these issues in individual watersheds. This information will help individuals and watershed committees to:

  • conduct a social profile that provides information about key social issues in the watershed;
  • conduct a survey of landowner opinions; and
  • prepare the content for the human dimensions section of a watershed management plan.
